The Theory Test
Theory Training is provided Free for all students training with Goldstar Driving Academy. The training is provided by Theory Test Pro using online connection with any device or pc following the link provided for you by Your Trainer.
The site contains all DVSA approved Questions.
Also a full bank of 18 hazard perception clips, and a full copy of the highway code
1] the first part of the Theory Test involves 50 multiple choice questions and you have 57 minutes in order to answer them. The Pass Mark is 43.
2] The second part of the Theory Test is Hazard Perception, this is taken after completing the multiple choice questions. The Questions comprise of 14 video clips, the Pass Mark is 44 out of a possible 75.
Once you have passed your Theory Test, you must pass the Practical Driving Test
within Two Years. If you do not you will have to re-sit the Theory Test

The Practical Test
The Practical Driving Test last between 38 to 43 minutes depending on road and traffic conditions.
The Test: Before the driving part of the test starts you will be required to read a car number plate from a distance of 20 metres
As you get to the car you will be asked a question about the car [Tell Me].
You will also be asked to operate one of the controls in the car whilst driving [Show Me]. You can find them all listed here.
During the driving test you will be asked to follow the road ahead at all times unless given instruction otherwise.
You will also be required to drive independently for 20 minutes following Sat Nav directions Pre-set by the Examiner, or follow directions reading road signs.
You will also be required to demonstrate your ability to perform one of the following Manoeuvres:
1] Reverse into a parking bay.
2] Drive forward into a parking bay and reverse out.
3] Come alongside a car and reverse and park parallel to the curb [Parallel Park].
4] Stop on the Right hand side of the road and reverse straight for approximately two car lengths.
You may also be asked to perform an emergency stop.
The driving test will require you to drive safely in a variety of Road Conditions, from narrow city streets with parked cars and pedestrians to major roads and dual carriageways.
Your training will take you round many of the roads in your test area, so you will be well prepared for every situation you may encounter on your test day
Most Importantly, we will help you to relaxed and confident in your ability and encourage you to develop good observational skills, effective use of mirrors and planning the road ahead.
We want to see you become a safe, confident and conscientious driver, respectful of all types of road users.
To book your Practical Test, you must have first passed your Theory Test.
Goldstar Driving Academy can take care of the booking for you.
We will prepare you for all that may be asked for you on the day. However the end result relies on your understanding, commitment and confidence in your own ability on the day
The current fee for the Practical Test is
£62 or £75 for weekend tests
Please Note: We will not allow you to use our car for the practical test if we do not believe you are at test standard. This will ensure your safety and ultimately save you money in your training.
